Homecoming Address - December 22, 2024

TODAY was not only the Christmas program, but also, the day Garrett reported his two-year mission to the Dominican Republic Spanish Speaking Mission in Sacrament Meeting.  His testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and his LOVE of the Savior was truly evident as he told of his experiences with these humble people, who he learned to LOVE so much.  He bore his testimony at the end in Spanish.

WELCOME HOME, Garrett!  We're so proud of your dedicated two years of LOVE and service!  We LOVE you dearly!

Elder Barlow Arrives Home - December 19, 2024

After serving two years of serving the Lord in Dominican Republic, Elder Barlow arrived in the Kansas City Airport.  He was greeted by his family and friends who showed him how much they loved him and were excited for his return.  His Grandparents Copeland had flown into Kansas City for this big day.  Elder Barlow's mother had lettered white sweatshirts with his mission written on it for all the family to wear, which was so special.

So much gratitude for his health and safety as well as all his hard work during these last two years.

Elder Copeland stopped off on the way home from the airport to see his new home and see his beloved dogs after being away from them for two years.

Elder Barlow's brother, Isaac, was so excited to give him a shirt that had memories of Dominican Republic on it that he had purchased for him.

After a short stay at home, it was time to meet with the stake president to be released as a full-time missionary.  Since the stake president was out of town, his counselor, who was Elder Barlow's bishop when he left on his mission, Kelly Rindlisbacher, released him with praising words for the great job he had done on his mission and for the growth he has shown in his own testimony and life.

Elder Barlow now became Garrett Barlow upon his release and removing his missionary badge.

Upon leaving the church, two of the Spanish missionaries serving in Kansas, asked if he would like to visit some of the members and non-members in the Spanish branch.  Garrett was glad to realize he could continue helping the missionary work along.

An open house was held that evening in the home of their family friends, Mike and Mel Kolman, who kindly opened their home since the Barlows had not totally moved from their rental to their new home.  Many family, friends, and church members attended.

WELCOME HOME, GARRETT!
